Improving an operational compliance workflow
Internal tools helped move a compliance metric from roughly 60–70% to over 90%.
The starting point
An operational compliance metric was around 60–70%. The problem involved the workflow as well as the software: people needed better visibility into the work and who was responsible for it.
My part
I built and improved internal tools that made the workflow easier to see and follow.
How I approached it
Make the next step clearer.
I focused on useful reporting and clearer ownership, so people could see what needed attention.
Reduce the friction.
The aim was to make it easier to act on that information and see progress, with better feedback along the way.
The result
The metric improved to more than 90%. The software was one part of that improvement, alongside the people doing the work.
